I was hoping that it would end different.

I was hoping William would realize that the blacksmith lady loved him and they would get together. I felt kind of bad for her. Here she was helping William and he loves someone else. Am I stupid?

When I saw this years ago I was so sure that he would end up with the lovely loyal and brave blacksmith rather than the vain shallow rich maiden - how wrong was I.

Dude, the blacksmith lady, while loyal farts with the guys. Who would want her?

reply

I was hoping Baratheon was going to tag her. He seemed like a nice fella.

although i liked the blacksmith very much, and would have liked them to get together, I did not have the impression that she was in love with him. i thought they were just good friends.

It was never going to happen - this is really just a traditional 'knights in armour' tale, where the hero ends up with the princess and everyone lives happily ever after (except the dastardly villain, of course).

I'm just not certain why people thought he was going to end up with the blacksmith... It's not like they really had any romantic moments together. She was just sort of there to help. Like a friend. All of his attention was focused on Jocelyn, so I didn't think they would end up together...

I thought the 3 main guys were going to get a woman each. The "lady" was the least attractive.
