am i the only one???

I was just wondering if I am the only person that cries buckets throughout this film? When sir and little miss die, when andrew tells rupert about what "everyone" says about sex, when andrew dies just moments before hearing that he is officially human... gah this film just makes a wreck outta me! no matter how many times i watch it, it still gets me every time!

During the scene where Andrew replayes Little Miss' dancing with her Husband for Sir, I cried.
I also cried for most of the scenes after that right up until Andrew and Portia die.

What a sad but brilliant film.

I just don't understand why the movie is so hammered by critics. The acting is good, the story is good. It explores very thoughtful and human questions, and to me, it was always neat that this movie came out in 1999 - right on the verge of a new era, exploring questions that are bound to arise in reality for humans in the near future, and in fact already have in many ways, in regard to artificial intelligence, etc.

the critics dont understand humanity living in their posh houses and sanitized lives they have forgotten what it is to really live, to give shelter to homeless animal, fall in love, have a fight, make mistakes....

this is chris columbus's best movie till date yet its the most critically panned!

From the very moment that Andrew appears, I get choked up...and I try to hold back, but it's no use. I always tell myself that I won't watch the whole movie and I still sit through the whole thing and cry buckets!

The most touching scene is the last one where they both die next to each other....that's a pretty "nice" way to go next to your eternal love...

A very touching film it is. And a treat to be with you all who share their tenderness.

I did sniffle a bit.

The film had many flaws but I still did cry all the way through the film. It does get you thinking about how fast time flies by and how so many things in this world are so beautiful.

This film touched my conscience at so many levels! I saw a scene as a kid and wanted ever since to watch it. Finally watched the full movie yesterday, and I totally understand why people praise it so. And yes it did crack me up quite a few times too. The scene when Andrew replays SIR's dance for him and the ensuing conversation just did it for me. By the time Andrew died I was a complete wreck too. Definitely one up there. Could compare it at a level with HER(2013).

I cry just thinking about scenes from this film, like I'm doing now — and I haven't seen it in over 10 years!

Everybody teases me for loving this movie: "But, but, it's so... sentimental!" as if that's a four-letter word.
