'Alien Abduction - Incident at Lake County'...differenc es?

If you do a search on IMDB for 'the McPherson Tape' you get this page and also a page for 'Alien Abduction - Incident at Lake County aka Alien Abduction - The McPherson Tape'. Does anyone know if these are two separate films? I think the one I saw was the 'Alien Abduction...' one because I recognised the actors listed on its page...so therefore, what is THIS film? Has it ever been shown on tv and what is the difference between this and the other one mentioned above? Any info would be appreciated because I really did enjoy the 'Alien Abduction...' version of the film but it was very staged and very cheesy in places and if there is a 'better' version of this film then I would be intrigued to see it.

Mcpherson Tape and Alien Abduction in Lake County are one and the same

Okay, thanks for the info. But why then are there two separate pages on IMDB? And how has the film managed to score a 7.6 on this page and only 6.1 on the 'Alien Abduction' page?

reply

Well, if I understand correctly there is two versions of this film. One with interviews in between and one without. So maybe that's why. Or maybe someone added the film on imdb when it was already there under an AKA name....

'The McPherson Tape' is the European title for the film, the 'Lake County' title is the American title :)

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

'UFO Abduction' is the original version. The writer/director remade it a few tears later as 'Alien Abduction - Incident at Lake County'/'Alien Abduction - The McPherson Tape'.

You can't palm off a second-rater on me. You gotta remember I was in the pink!

"Alien Abduction: The McPherson Tape" is the same as "Incident In Lake County". Both are the 1998 remake. Directed by Dean Alioto. Budget: $1.2 million. 96 minutes.

"The McPherson Tape" is the original 1989 version directed by Dean Alioto. Budget: $6,500. 63 minutes.

It's not the same movie.

The McPherson Tape is the original and Alien Abduction... is the remake.
Both done by the same director, the narrative structure of the film is similar but the cast are different and you can find a small differences in style, scenes and the ending. Also Alien Abduction... filmed for the TV.
