Don't know whether I should blame M Knight Shamalyan or thank him for this.....

......But here goes nothing. Ever since the cult classic status of the sixth sense [which wasn't even his own original idea, he openly admits that he got the idea from watching Cable TV's Nickelodeon, ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK, TALE OF THE DREAM GIRL] people have been watching and=rewatching their favorite movies, plays and TV Shows everything from Bob's Burgers, Friends, Grease, you name it, and going back and forth with the so-called internet [theory] that the main character is either dead the whole time or in a coma reliving things as they slowly die.
The film/fanatic people used to really have good insights and write interesting analysis and interpretations for their favorite movie or TV characters; but after the sixth sense, it was almost like they weren't even trying anymore just, "Yep they're dead the whole time like Dr. Malcolm Crowe was."
Do I blame M Knight or thank him? Rock and a hard place.

You can't blame M for other people being trying to incorporate concepts the directors/writers/etc. aren't doing in their work. I am being very generous and euphemistic.

Yes, but he's the one who set the ball rolling and brought it all up; sort of. He did admit it wasn't his original idea, he got it off Nickelodeon, Are You Afraid Of The Dark; The Tale Of The Dream Girl. After the success of The Sixth Sense people went crazy trying to say; "What if the main character was dead the whole time" for other shows even though one had nothing to do with the other and not every TV Show, movie, musical or Saturday morning cartoon is meant to be They Were Already Dead/They Are Dying And Slipping Away Fast and just hallucinating everything. No. Those shows/films are meant to take place in present time with everybody including the main character present and accounted for, and ALIVE!

Thanks for your insight.
