I guess what that's trying to say is that Lynch tried to help Watts film a very uncomfortable scene by offering some semblance of privacy (as it were), but that he pushed through the moment to accomplish shooting the scene.

Yeah. What I'd really like to hear is her opinion of it... was the small tent helpful? It sounds to me like something that might make the whole thing worse, at least for some people!

Actually, she did talk about the scene I remember in an interview. Though I can't remember if she mentioned the "tent" and I don't remember where I'd heard it but I'm assuming it was an extra on the Criterion release.

She does an excellent Lynch impersonation by the way.
