Do you mean the ending of the series. There was certainly a physical mess in the last scene......

A general consensus is that the series finale was rather disappointing, I believe.

Yes, that is also the general consensus.

Everyone pretty much agreed that the show had run its course.

Hence, the last season was only a "half" season.

Yeah I mean the tying up of all the stories and characters. All their lives turn to crap. I don't mind too much because it is a comedy and it never took itself seriously anyway, but still, I would have preferred to see a glimpse of how things turn out for them. But it all goes horribly wrong for everyone, it was kind of depressing and so different to the rest of the show. I guess the writers just wanted it to end.

At least they didn't make it where it was all a dream that Carrie was having and they didn't win the lottery and Dan, er Doug, died of a heart attack.

I don't remember ever having people say good things about a series final. Even Friends and Seinfeld, two of the most popular shows of all time were ripped about this.

Yeah! The Friends one I thought was depressing too. Not as weird and crazy as King of Queens but just as depressing for me. I didn't like them leaving their super fun, sexy, and youthful lives in NYC to go live in suburbia with babies etc. Way to remind me what a bummer adulthood is lol...

I hated the Seinfeld ending. I can't even remember it now, I just remember thinking it was very poor.

I quite liked the ending of Everybody Loves Raymond though. It was touching and sweet reflective. Can't remember many other comedies I watched all the way.

I agree, the finale was terrible and such a disservice to a great show. Perhaps it's because I've adopted from China twice...the whole adoption scenario was soooo unrealistic. I understand that it's just a tv show and that it's not always realistic, but wow...this episode was really terrible.

I don't understand why Doug & Carrie even ended up having children. They weren't maternal/paternal. They were annoyed by other people's kids. They were actually pretty content not having children for the majority of the series. Not all people are cut out to be parents, or even want to be parents. Doug & Carrie were both portrayed as pretty selfish people, so the idea of them having children seemed foolish.

To me, it was the perfect way to end the show. Oh they have kids now? BORING! I dont want to see that shit. That's why I like this sitcom so much, the married couple doesnt have kids. The only other sitcom I can think of about married couples without kids was rules of engagement. I think they ended the show when they got kids too.
