Did this movie kill Kim Basinger's career?

Kim was at the peak of her career when she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for LA Confidential. It was especially sweet because it was a remarkable comeback for after surviving the Boxing Helena fiasco and bankruptcy. She comes back three years later with I Dreamed of Africa (which was more or less, a vanity project) and Bless the Child, which both bombed big time. Ever since that time, Basinger has appeared in trashy, hacky, low budget schlock and/or quick, unremarkable paycheck projects. The only movie that she has done since that time that really stands out (unironically like Fifty Shades Darker) is 8 Mile.
