john cleese interview

i had bbc on and i was so happy to see one of the guests would be john cleese, because he is usually always funny in interviews, like the stories about his depressed mother, i remember reading years ago that he would prepare for ages before going into an interview, and i guess all that preparing could explain the relatively few episodes of "fawlty towers" considering all the years of production, i'm not sure how much he prepares for interviews anymore but i wish such a legendary funny man with such a natural talent would focus more on his comedic gift, this was not a pleasant interview but more like a grumpy guy letting off steam, this is not the john cleese i want to see, or i figure anyone would prefer to see, perhaps british people has a different view of him, but to me john cleese means fun. it wasn't dark or anything, but why would he chose this path, it's not like he's lost his comedic ability, i've seen him in interviews the last few years but this was the first time it was solely uncomfortable. considering his classic body of work i don't see why anyone around him doesn't stop him before it begins to overshadow and get smudged. fawlty towers forever.

you say you dont believe,
after all how could someone be more high and mighty,
with a narrow eye,
without revelation come by,
still informing us whats true and whats lie,
seem to someone having seen a different side,
if youre so smart pick up the bible sometime.
