How old are we all?

I often think I must be one of the youngest dinnerladies fans. I'm 20 now but I started watching back when it first aired - which I believe was 1998? Well that would have made me 12 and I loved it right from the start and watched it whenever it was repeated. Especially the dinnerladies back-to-backs on UKGold!

My mother used to think I was weird - laughing maniacally at a show even she considered herself too young to enjoy!

So I was wondering how old is everyone who posts on this board and was there anyone who watched this when they were a kid and loved it even then?

I'm 20 too and started watching it when it first aired! Victoria Wood is a comedy genius! x

I'm 18 and just bought the DVD boxset recently. I discovered it while looking for roles Maxine Peake had played and watched some of the episodes on YouTube first. It's absolutely hilarious - and I've just got my mum to watch it as well, and she loves it as much as I do :)

I started watching it last year (I am 46 and in the States) with my mother. She keeps asking me if Victoria Wood has any new comedy series.

Wish she'd do some more comedy... I know she does the comedy-drama one-offs but I'm really missing another show like Dinnerladies.

I'm 40, and also live in the States. I watched it on a recent trip to visit relatives in Derby & really fell in love with it.

Where did you watch it samanthaseaotter? I can only find Region 2 DVDs for this, but would love to get a set for myself and my mum.

Heard about it for years and finally ordered a Region 2 DVD - a couple of years ago I splurged on two region-free DVD recorders (they were only $150 apiece then and bought three of them). I strongly recommend trying to source one on ebay - have never regretted it and have bought plenty of Region 2 and Region 4 dvds ever since.

I'm 17 and must have been watching dinnerladies for at least 2 years now
I tend to watch the boxset through every other month or so... I do find that I know every word off by heart, but I could never complain - it never fails to make me wet myself with laughter and will never, ever get old.

I have to say that my favourite quote from the whole two series' must be...
"WHERE'S MY CLINT?" - followed by that amazingly genius long pause!

AND my most cringe-worthy moment is when Tony is talking to Stan about the baby on the fire escape and he looks as if he's just lost his mind xD
"Av just found a baab-e!"

Still love it though :)

I'm in my mid forties and i'm surprised at how many young people love this show, but pleasantly surprised. The one liners are just wonderful, and there are countless laugh out loud moments. I watched it originally when it was first aired and now i'm starting to watch it again on dvd's. Due to just watching the six part series on BBC "Silk" I wanted to see how Maxine Peake looked a few years back, can't believe the difference in her, did anyone else see the show "Silk". Talk about gritty.

I'm 17 - I watched when it first came out - but I just enjoyed the really basic jokes then - I now appreciate it on a more .... deep comic level!!

21. Loved Victoria as long as I can remember.

Not quite, I saw 'An Audience with...' at about 10 or 11.

Nothing like being ten years late to the party! I am 48 and American so I have been cheated out of years of wonderful work by Victoria Wood. I am trying to make up for lost time now. Finished dinnerladies, now on to more VW goodness. It's all new to me.
