I've gotta admit I found the constant "this is so 2000s!" a bit weird since I think this much more a late-90s film and for me a '2000s' movie has it's own distinct feel and comes in a bit later. I mean I know it was released in 2000 but as someone who is pretty much the same age as Doug (I was just starting my first year of college when this came out so was pretty much the target demographic) I always feel there was a distinct ironic, knowing, winking at the audience, hip vibe in pop culture stretching from about 1996 through September 2001 when for tragic reasons we all know there was a sharp cultural shift and films really got earnest and serious again for a while. Even post-911 comedies from the mid-2000s have a noticeably different vibe.

'Charlie's Angels' is very much part of that hip late 90s phase. It isn't a well done part of that era by any means - something like 'Men in Black' captures the tone in an infinitely better movie - but it really feels like it's era.
