I just saw this on a year ago rerun. Here's the clue:

After finishing a $15,000 bottle of 1985 Richebourg Grand Cru, you can put this in your heap, as long as it's natural

It's cork. But Alex doesn't only say "Richebourg" with a pompous accent, he makes sure the viewers know that oh yeah, in that Richebourg, it's cork. He wanted us to know he can personally attest to that.

I hate him so much.

I can just imagine how he pronounced Grand Cru.

I thoroughly enjoy Jeopardy and Alex is generally alright ,sometimes ,but when he does his pompous ass routine it ruins the show.
