This was the clue:

With depths of up to 30,000′, ocean trenches make up a zone named for this brother of Poseidon & his domain.

Time finishes and Trebek says this was difficult? Difficult? I thought this was one of the easiest finals I have ever seen. Remarkably not one of the contestants got the answer correct and I was blown away. I mean the knowledge required here is something most people learn in elementary school.

I mean I would think most contestants that make it on the show know the basics of mythology.

I had heard of Hades but did not know that he was Poseidon's brother.

Oh I'm sorry. I'd expect people on Jeopardy to actually know the basics of Greek Mythology. Like I said, this is elementary school stuff.

I knew it too and was also shocked none of the contestants got it. If nothing else, I would have guessed Hades just from the part about the depths.

I got mine from actually beating four people on the show.

Jeopardy , like our country,as a whole ,is " dumbing down "
