"The Awful Truth"

I can't believe that she still stayed with that disgusting piece of s***. There wasn't a single nice moment between them. Usually they at least show one redeeming quality with male characters but that guy, nope. Do you know couples like that?

reply

I do, and I usually come to the conclusion that they must get off on it.
In fairness, they did both like dogs.

reply

They didn't go there in that episode but I can't imagine he was just abusing her verbally.

reply

Wait, who was this? The guy who called Charlotte names when he climaxed?

reply

The one your thinking of "Are we sluts". The episodes they speak of is the ome were Charlotte gets and I'll behaved dog and Carri inadvertently Influenced her friend to leave her jerk husband. From what I recall Carries friend was staying at her apartment when she leaves her husband. The husband was a really ill tempered man who even screamed at Carrie when she was at her friends house late at night. For some reason the dog that Charlotte gave the couple repaired the angry husbands and Carries friends marriage.

reply

Ohh, yes! Yes, that was a very disappointing ending! I think that was the darkest the show ever got in regard to problems in relationships. The guy was literally abusive, and in the end they suddenly get along because of a dog? If that's the way they wanted to go, they could have made them a couple who fights a lot, where both of them are involved. But verbal abuse?

reply

It's not 'are we sluts'? It's 'The awful truth'.

It was pointed out that if she did leave her husband the chances are very high she would end up alone while her husand would remarry within a year. And apparently the husband had a sweeter side we didn't get to see.
