Similarities to Mike Leigh's film "Naked" (1993).

Did anyone who has seen both film, this one "I Stand Alone" (1998) by Gaspar Noe and Mike Leigh's film "Naked", an early 90s British film from 1993, see similarities between the two movies and especially between its two male anti-hero protagonists?

Did "The Butcher" have a lot or even something in common with David Thewlis' "Johnny" character from that movie, given how, in both films, both men were flawed but also troubled characters who both suffered and cause others to suffer, and both spend nearly the whole running time of both films constantly PHILOSOPHISING on life, human nature, God etc whilst being also very self-pitying?

And was this movie, above or beyond all other things, at least partially inspired by "Naked" (1993) as well and even if not particularly, I bet Gaspar Noe at some point already in his life HAS seen that movie and has probably compared that film's main character to that of "The Butcher" here.
