Jawbreaker vs. Heathers.

Myself I prefer Jawbreaker.

Heathers is just too negative. There really aren't any 'good guys' in that flick. Veronica Sawyer was still complicit in how many murders? Also I don't care for J.D., I only like Christian Slater in 'good guy' roles.

Jawbreaker has clear good guys! I love rooting for Julie in this flick! Yes I also have a tremendous crush on her as well, LOL! Also Zack seems like a cool regular dude.

Jawbreaker also has a more interesting style. Like it starts out with alot of real bright '80s type clothes, then like later Julie is wearing these like '70s style outfits like jean jackets and stuff. In addition there are other cool cliques at the school. Heathers is just all late '80s all the time.

Oh Jawbreaker has a better soundtrack too with Veruca Salt and Imperial Teen.

I like them both; but, I give the edge to Heathers.

Have to agree! Just watched them both recently. Heathers doesnt stand up to the test of time. Its flat, not funny (even darkly funny) and Slater is annoying. Jawbreakers stayed fun and light throughout.
However, the best of these movies is MEAN GIRLS.

Just watched Jawbreaker today. Saw the comparison to Heathers right away. The Heathers writer should honestly sue the Jawbreaker screenwriter. Group of 4 girls who rule the school. One of the girls doesn't really fit in. Accidental death of one of the girls. Stage the death to take the spotlight on what really happened. The outcast girl remembers being friends with an unpopular girl.

Heathers was monumentally better in every way to Jawbreaker. Jawbreaker is a terrible film. There is no wit. No style. Constant musical interludes that have no rhyme or reason. The actresses look way way too old to be in high school. Everything is off in Jawbreaker. It is a joyless film in every way. The acting is a lot better in Heathers than in Jawbreaker.

Jawbreaker was incredibly stupid as well. The girls set it up to make it look like Liz was a sexual deviant. The coroner would find out right away if she had sex and they would tell if she was a virgin. If they wanted to do it that way, Marilyn Manson would have had to had sex with the corpse. The movie didn't have the balls to do that.

Jawbreaker didn't really set up the characters well at all. We really don't know much about Liz. It would have been good to seen her alive and interacting with people in school. We just don't know anything about Liz to really care about her.

It is quite obvious that the Jawbreaker screenwriter was influenced by Heathers in every way. Pale pale imitation of an original. Awful awful movie.

Definitely got a Heathers vibe right away. I've found a lot of movies that came out in the 90s and after are not all that original, just remixes of older beloved 80s movies.

While I LOVE both. Heathers takes the cake for me because it was the original and it has way more quotable lines. It also had a better plot and better overall meaning. Heathers is just a film that can NEVER be topped. Especially within the high school movie genre.
