Film was mostly shot in New Orleans. Our middle son was at soccer practice at Audubon Park when the team was approached to be in the film. The entire team & coaches are in the final scene (some on the field & some walking as students) in the background. Scene was filmed at Dillard University in Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans. Everyone was very nice & pleasant to the kids & was paid quite well. I was anxious to see Tommy Lee Jones (had a major crush on him back in the day, Eyes of Laura Mars but time has not been kind to him& Ashley Judd was lovely as always, such a beauty, but her legs had been bitten up by something bad My son took his pay & bought top line, super expensive stunt bike, skateboard & paint gun. Hard to believe this was 16 years ago. 🙌

Wow thats a cool story:) and im sure its something your son will forget and always cherish. Do you mind telling me how much your son was paid? I've always wonder how "extras" get paid to be in movies.

I went to an extras casting call for The Green Mile. They gave us a sheet of paper explaining everything that we could expect including pay rate. The pay rate for movie extras is minimum wage. :/

I was an extra for a TV movie. We got just under $100/day. They withhold taxes.

We got free food, but it was the "Craft Service" level, not the "Catering" the main actors and key crew get.

It's a little boring, and I caught something from the old hospital we shot in. But I'd do it again if they shot something near here (unlikely).
