God-level production design


All the posters and stickers were not only very well chosen, they managed to age them in a way that made them and the whole shop look all worn and dingy, the antithesis of a shiny-corporate look. Anyone who hung out in such places in that era will instantly recognize the authenticity. Chef's kiss!

Wow, that's a great point, it truly is! I guess I had always just assumed they filmed in an actual record store, but your post made me look it up and sure enough you're right, the interior is a studio set...
