a second meeting?

After their dance interlude and Tom and Amanda spring back into reality, understandably both are still stunned. And I was glad Amanda took the initiative to provoke their second meeting. But although Tom said he would call her, does anyone feel he might not have attempted it if she hadn't called his office the next day? Might be my imagination and I give it to him that the experience "was" overwhelming but Tom strikes me as they type that would not hesitate yet he seemed to be a hemm' and a hawin' about it the next day, plus we find out later on that he truly is not handling all the magic in his down-to-earth little world.

No matter though as I loved the film. The great chemistry between Gellar and Flanery continually enhances in this fun magical story, and their passions for food travels along the same lines as "Chocolat". Excellent visual portrayals of the magical quality we all experience at that very moment when true love is finally discovered. Good casting, romantic themes and special effects (especially the mirrors) and I loved the little magical crab that began it all. A gourmet cook myself, I thoroughly enjoyed pretending along that all that beautiful food was delightfully possessed and coming together on its own.(why not right?) Nice touches too with the orchids and vanilla smoke, and I thought the expression of drunk truth that came over all those who partook was an added perk. Too many fun parts but must mention the Rube Goldberg Martini Marker, what a hoot!

Time stood still for Tom and Amanda not unlike the Jean-Luc Picard moment in Star Trek's "Insurrection". And as the sensations of smell and taste are so prominent, most likely the film is based on pheromones, life's invisible match-maker that attract us to the most unlikely of candidates.
