problem with 3x13, Army of One

When Adriana meets Deborah, aka "Danielle," while shopping, Adriana states it's for her cousin's funeral. Yet this is interspersed with scenes of Jackie's viewing, and then funeral, neither of which she is present at. She merely shows up at the wake, seemingly in a party mood. This just makes no sense. You wait to go shopping for something to wear until the event is already happening, and then run off with your new friend to Starbucks?

I can only imagine that this happened for pacing reasons. Because to have it so Adriana would've been present for the events, then her meeting Deborah would've had to happen a fair bit earlier in the episode, which I guess they didn't want. But I think they should've done so anyway, because again, you don't wait until then to do that shopping.
