Both Apes films had horrible endings

Not sure which ending is worse, this one or the 1968 one. May have to go with the 1968 one. How the heck were apes able to steal the Statue of Liberty from Earth and drop it off on their home planet?

Did you actually watch the film?the whole point is that it was earth and we ruined it.

reply

Come now, didn't you realise that the Statue of Liberty was some secret interplanetary rocket of French origin, that sent Frenchmen to the ape planet in an attempt to spread the French language to the universe and beyond? Then again, Taylor seems to have jumped to the wrong conclusion, too. Merde!

Damn, I wish they had used that idea in some of the Ape Planet sequels that came out in the 1970s.

The 1968 ending is one of the most iconic movie endings in the history of film that perfectly summarizes the ideas presented in the movie up to that point.

Having been unable to find the "This morning with Richard not Judy" Planet of the apes ending I was forced to share this with you instead:

And not just the statue. All the ruins of NYC, complete with the subway trenches, picked up and moved to that planet by Bellatrix. Just makes no sense! hahahaha

reply

Don't be daft.

It's just a full scale replica not the original Statue.
