"ANYTHING we need.. except helicopters and useful tools?"

This is how their rescue effort SHOULD have gone down, and I am ONLY utilizing what the movie shows and tells us.

1) Instead of useless pistols and other crap-weapons that do nothing, they should've summoned HELICOPTERS, more futuristic weapons, some kind of 'controllable net' or some kind of 'people-retriever' they can use to grab Morpheus and remotely move him into the helicopter and thus safety.

2) Their whole mission should've started from the roof, instead of having to go through the lobby into the elevator just so they can uselessly blow up the lobby (what was the point of the bomb in the elevator anyway? WHAT did that accomplish? Block the way so no one can follow them?) and use the elevator shaft to go to the roof while saying 'there is no spoon'. Elevators do NOT work like that, they have MULTIPLE safety features that makes it impossible for the 'room' (or whatever it's called) to 'free fall' like that.

3) Neo or Trinity lands on the roof OR they just go immediately to the Morpheus-window and either start shooting recklessly, like shown in the movie, OR do something more interesting, like unbolt/cut/melt the window (maybe in a more stealthy way, like in the movie 'Entrapment'), then use the 'net/magnet/rubber-retriever'-device (remember, 'ANYTHING we need', not just 'SOMETHING we need', so persuadertrons and rubber-retrievers (or people-grabbers) should exist) to retriever Morpheus, THEN leave some bombs in the room where agents might reappear (why blow up the elevator but not the room where the agents respawn?)

4) Quickly fly to safety instead of just hanging there until an agent shoots at your helicopter exactly TWO times..

But sure, let's go with the pistols and lobby-plan, I am sure it's just as good.

ANYTHING we need, and they choose THIS.
