Other Point + Click/adventure games as good as Blade Runner?

Have been playing Blade Runner for years and can simply say that it has got to be the best of its kind. Even adventure games on the third generation consoles come nowhere near to capturing the same level of mystery, intrigue and ambience that this does.

Was just wondering if anybody has ever played a game they felt went very close to matching or dare I say it exceeding the quality of it?

I have played a lot of PC point and clicks in the past including the monkey island series, broken sword series and Full Throttle all of which are fantastic games but I am yet to get the same kick I got when I played Blade Runner right back in 1999!!

Any suggestions appreciated...

This one was a very interesting game back in the day (well not that long ago really). I'm sure it's still quite playable for most people who aren't after the latest graphics all the time. What made it good imo was it's very interesting premise. Actually I can't think of another game that told a story in a similar fashion. You basically play several main characters and try to chase one of them down while trying to evade capture while playing the character being chased. Like BR this one has multiple endings based on what kind of choises you make with different characters during the game and the story plays out quite a bit like an interactive movie really. Another interesting part was how time was incorporated into dialogs in the game. Sometimes you had to make quick decisions on what you wanted to say or the conversation might end or not go the way you might have liked.

It had some difficult reaction based puzzles that could be annoying at times but I think the story was worth it although it did get a little out of hand at the late parts of the game.

If you end up checking it out and get stuck at some reaction related event later in the game (couple of them can be a bit tricky), drop me a line and I can give you a hint to help you get forward.

It goes by the names Fahrenheit (european) and Indigo prophecy (U.S.)
The U.S. version is partially censored so the european version is better.

Under a Killing Moon (Tex Murphy) should be right up your alley. Good story and features A list actors. The sequal is also worth a play through, The Pandora Directive.

Police Quest games were fun. All the LucasArts games were great. Sierra games too, like Phantasmagoria and Puzzle of Flesh. A very very good game was Harvester. Kind of a cross David Lynch / PKD feel to it. Great stuff.

The Gabriel Knight series (The Beast Within; especially) and Phantasmagoria. Amazing "point and click" games.

I loved the Syberia games. You can snag them both on Steam.
