Already watched Vanilla Sky and liked it so the same is likely true of this movie. However subtitles get tedious especially in a film with so much ancillary action that looking at the subtitles would make one miss much of the nuance between actors. Before the snobs chime in yes I do like some subtitled films but still prefer dubbing in english.

shareNot being a native English speaker, I watch all foreign films with subtitles and I am also very grateful that in my country they don't dub movies. IMHO, that completely ruins the films. I got used to the subtitles since I was a little kid and it doesn't distract me from what is happening on the screen.
I like American remake but heard that original is way better (which is actually almost always the fact).

I think voice-overs are sort of a middle ground. You don't have to read and you still can hear original voices. In Russia we usually have a dub and several voiceovers for every movie. On TV voiceovers are predominant. Subs are almost never used, exception would be Eyes Wide Shut which was meant to be shown with subs but still a voiceover exists for this movie.

Yes, I've seen a few Russian movies with English voiceovers. Gosh I hate those. And they didn't give me a choice of subtitles, which I would have chosen in a minute. I find voiceovers much more distracting. I'm glad you have a choice on your DVDs.
I don't think it would work for this movie, no matter how good the dub version could be.

shareDubbing sucks, trust me. I had to put up with it for ages when I lived in Spain, although it was synched quite well it falls down in two areas: Firstly, the speed at which Spanish syllables are uttered is much faster than in English, meaning that dubbed dialogue is delivered in a slow and methodical manner, as if everyone were in a permanent state of brooding contemplation. Secondly, you end up with same set of actors voicing every character, so Doctor House is also two people on CSI, someone on Criminal Minds and in various films.
And this is without even considering what is lost in translation, because phrases will be chosen because they can be synched better rather than because they convey the original meaning.

No one cares if you watch the movie or not. Learn spanish, watch it with subtitles, or dont watch it. No one gives a crap
