Dubbing sucks, trust me. I had to put up with it for ages when I lived in Spain, although it was synched quite well it falls down in two areas: Firstly, the speed at which Spanish syllables are uttered is much faster than in English, meaning that dubbed dialogue is delivered in a slow and methodical manner, as if everyone were in a permanent state of brooding contemplation. Secondly, you end up with same set of actors voicing every character, so Doctor House is also two people on CSI, someone on Criminal Minds and in various films.
And this is without even considering what is lost in translation, because phrases will be chosen because they can be synched better rather than because they convey the original meaning.
