So Kristy was a total lesbian, right?

It felt somewhat subtle in the books, but I'm losing it at Kristy's lines in the show. "Come on Logan, let's go look at baseball mitts." "All the boys in Stoneybrook suck. I don't ever want to date a boy."

Do you ever wonder how many mimes choke to death because people think it's some lame mime trick?

Well, it's always a possibility - not that it really matters if she was or not.

But there are girls who get into the boy craze much later. She's a tomboy and really enjoys hanging out with her friends. I think that's a great thing for a middle school girl.

In the books, she was interested in a few boys, and I think she even had a boyfriend at one point, near the middle or end of the series. She was just a late bloomer. She became interested in boys later than the other girls, she was the last (besides Mallory and Jessi) of the BBC to start wearing a bra. I was the same way as her, until my eighth grade year.

She's a tomboy who can hang out platonically with guys as well as girls, but has only ever had an interest in dating boys--especially her on-again-off-again thing with Bart. They never "went there" by having a gay character in the BSC, although the series tried to touch on EVERY other "issue" and kind of person, and EVERYTHING else that ever existed in the universe (which is why I love it so much! It's timelessly relatable, got something and someone for everybody to love...) Many of us have moments where we make sweeping derogatory statements about the opposite sex--doesn't indicate our orientations. One of my favorite books in the series is Mallory Hates Boys & Gym, but Mal's clearly not a lesbian either.

In the interest of time, let's agree to disagree--even though I'm always right.

I'm pretty sure OP's just been visiting the BSC Snark community, guys.

Lommy: What if the wolves come?
Arya: Yield.

That's an ignorant statement, Ratsawgod...lot of lesbians were NOT "tomboys" growing up and most sports-oriented, active girls are heterosexual.

reply

In this series it's possible. She never mentioned boys like the other girls.

"White dudes hold the record for creepy crimes."

reply

Actually you are wrong. She went to dances with Alan Gray and had a boyfriend named Bart.

reply

No she's just a tomboy and late bloomer.

reply

She sure seemed to hate boys.
