Damn sure I did. Rarely have I despised a movie character so much. It's really hard to say anything about her without cussing.

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾

I think the lion's share of the animus belongs with the judge who didn't remain impartial when determining Lewis's punishment. I support zero tolerance drug laws but the judge's behavior bordered on thuggery. Lewis and his friends, however, took a roll of the dice they knew could result in their deaths and I have a difficult time sympathizing. Southeast Asia is rife with natural beauty and not a destination for the world's burnouts to sample the dope trade. Should we really be giving them advice?

True that. What's worse is that the prosecutor kept their word and when Sheriff showed up in court and pleaded guilty, they recommended 6 years for both as agreed. Yet judge impulsively cr@pped all over the deal that Lewis and Beth had with prosecutors.

I wonder if there was additional media backlash after they hung Lewis. Now, on top of being criticized for unfairly harsh drug laws, Malaysians could have also been portrayed as liars who couldn't keep their own promises. Maybe that's why they decided to release Sheriff at the end, Beth said it was to save face (although not before media circus died down).

Although there's no excuse on the part of Jada Pinkett's character. After Beth has given here some real life examples of what happened when media got involved and practically begged her to stay out of it, her wishes should have been respected.
