Why 6.4 ?

My rating is 10. It's one of my favorite movies ever.

I just watched it tonight. Don't know how many times I've seen it, but it gets better every time. Really well written and original movie. Everything from how they end up in the shelter to the neighborhood turning into a dump over the years, thus making the world seem like a dystopia. Also love the subplot involving a cult developing around the shelter elevator.

I give it a 8/10 at the lower end. I could rate it some decimal points higher. Some aspects of it don't knock
my socks off, but other parts pay a lot of attention to detail and exposition.
I like the romance. The dancing scene is done very well.

I'd give it a 7, tops. And I really enjoy the movie, it's a lot of fun, but it's not a "great" movie by any stretch. Silverstone (whom I loved in "Clueless") drags it down some for me, and the whole soda shop subplot kind of stunk. Walken, Fraser, Spacek and Foley were all great, though.

The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it.

I rated 8
Awesome rom-com

I gave it an 8/10. I think it definitely deserves a 7+ rating, but IMDb ratings are not generally an accurate scale of how good/bad a movie is, so it's not super consequential.

Rant over. You can all return to your normal lives.

I love the film and still would only give it 7.5 tops. There are faults with it but still very entertaining.
