I have to disagree with Moore

Anbody else ever question why is it a bad thing that these companies are giving work to poor countries. Constantly the media says that the workers work long hours and do extremely hard work...but noone is forcing them to work. If companies like Nike didnt hire the labour from these countries would those people be any better off? I believe if i was in the same situation i would rather work 12 hours a day than starve to death, wouldnt you? The only reason why the media and michael moore are trying to brainwash everyone is because if we start sending are money to poor countries so that they can do labour for us because it would hurt our strong economy. If we give them the jobs they no longer starve to death and our unemployment rate goes up and less ppl can afford their suvs and plasma screen tvs.

I gave my SUV to a little boy in Uganda. I just hope he can afford to fill up the tank.

slavery is good thing isnt? people out side US is not worth for labor rights?
working for $hit that's the ticket
poor people are just a rock in the middle of the road
lets exterminate them with force labor to death...

Nah man, a hippo.

It's inherently unfair. Either you work long hours for some conglomerate, earning pennies, or you starve. Nor fair at all.

I agree that they would be worse off without these jobs.

But does that make it right to pay them *beep* wages?

especially if your a multi millionairre company

"You Do What You Love, And F@ck Everything Else"

what kind of sandwich did you have in mind?

What is left out of your observation is that these company do not just go in those countries and create jobs where there were none. Mots of the time those corporate companies get rid of local jobs that these people used to rely on and then establish themselves as the only alternative.

Well... I'm in a foreign country working for an american company and it does pay better than a lot of local companies... and well, the laws in my country force companies to give us a 20 minute break every 3 hours and overtime pays triple... so I wouldn't really call it "slavery". It certainly is cheaper for the company than if they hired local employees but it's pretty far from being either abusive or "cheap labor".
