The shark that eats Jei Li

I watched this film tonight for the first time, with my praents. When Riggs and Jet Li fall into the water, my mom said the shark was going to smell and blood and come. Right after Riggs shoots Jet Li, the lightning flashes and behind Li I saw a shark. My parents did not see it. When the movie was over I went back to that part and played it again, and didn't see a shark. Then I played it frame-by-frame and we all agreed, there was definitely a shark behind Li's dead body! Did anybody else catch this? Seriously, if you own this movie check it out, I'm not lying!

The shark was at the beginning of the movie when Murtaugh, Riggs and Leo were fishing. Leo caught a shark and he wanted to have it stuffed. When the boat sank, the shark got away, and probably didn't stick around to snack on Jet Li later in the film.

Didn't they fall into a body of freshwater? Now I know there are freshwater sharks, but in that part of L.A., what's the likelihood of that?

Because the Lethal Weapon franchise has been heralded for its subtly and IMPLIED violence. Come on now! If they wanted you to believe a shark ate Jet Li, you would have f’n see a shark eat Jet Li.

I realize this is a thread from 2008 but I'm gonna reply anyway.

Okay, first let's use logic: If a shark came to eat Jet Li, wouldn't it still be there when Riggs falls into the water again? He falls in the same spot, no sign of a shark.

If they had wanted to show us a shark, it wouldn't be for a split second, it would be way more visible and it would be shown AFTER Riggs gets rescued. Otherwise it makes no sense, since Riggs is underwater again and stays there for a while.

It's not a shark, it's the car from which Mel got the machine gun from. You can see the bumper on the other side of Jet. What you thought was teeth looks like a broken headlight.

I ƒucking love this thread. The logic of this scene would then be : Jet Li's been speared through the gut, had that spear twisted around inside him, machine gunned to ƒuck, and then to make sure he doesn't get off lightly... a shark eats him. I'd definitely ditch half the movie for that!

Trump line : "In America, shark serves you."

This is the best bad idea we have sir. By far.
