the title of your post alone made me choke on my coffee...heehee...thnx for brightening up my morning....that's about how I feel the morning after watching this film. What in God's name is going on here?

The original poster obviously meant David LEIGH - that reporter character!

The greatest trick the Devil has ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist!

No, I meant David Lynch. Don't you David Lynch?

For me, the ending was the worst part. I was utterly terrified by the sheer possibility that the Jersey Devil had done the crime, sent the request and had given the lost footage to the documentary filmmaker. The ending ruined all of that, and it made the movie unrealistic (sure, saying the JD is real is far-fetched, but less than the explanation presented). I mean, why would anyone in their right mind make a documentary about a murder they made? Even an insane person isn't that insane and dumb. And plus, the film states that there were no footprints and all these things matched up to be a paranormal event. But then they decided to make it 'real' and gave us this dumb twist.

Or, was the dude actually the Devil himself? I don't know, any other opinions?

The ending also didn't explain how the victims' blood got on Jim Suerd clothes, which had to be a huge factor in his court case. And the narrator's mention of "the guilt of Jim Suerd" was just misdirection since Suerd would have had no reason to feel guilty.

Don't be so lame, it's still worth a look. And do you know who I'm referring to when I say David Lynch? As you haven't seen the movie, I'm guessing not, so watch the movie (hey, you're only 12 years late) and stop complaining.

If you haven't seen the movie then stay out of the message board as they are always rife with spoilers. Learnt that lesson the hard way.

I think it's important to note Twin Peaks came out several years prior to The Last Broadcast. I saw it as an homage to Twin Peaks, which had a similar concept of a dark entity living in the forest, which would come to inhabit its victims and then commit murders against their will. Laura Palmer, the original victim in Twin Peaks was also rolled up in plastic. And it was the 90s, man.

"He is BOB, eager for fun. He wears a smile, everybody run!"

BOB is (one of) the inhabiting spirits in Twin Peaks, but the only (currently) evil one. MIKE, another inhabiting spirit once joined BOB on his serial killing.

Jersey Devil seems to fit this concept.

Not so much Lynchian as it is Lunch/Frostian.
