Trey Parker almost died last year, and amazingly not a single news or gossip organization appears to have picked up on it.

Several months before the 2017 season of South Park, Parker developed gangrenous gallbladder. There were complications during surgery, and his family was told he might not pull through. He had a very difficult few months, and there was talk of delaying or cancelling the season.

He got well just under the wire, and was able to deliver the episodes.
