Multiple Padmé Amidala outfits from the Star Wars prequels are recreated in an incredible Padmé cosplay video celebrating Natalie Portman’s character.

A fantastic Padmé Amidala cosplay video recreates several of Padmé’s iconic looks from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Padmé Amidala was introduced in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as the queen of Naboo, although the character pretended to be one of the queen’s handmaidens for most of the film. Natalie Portman reprised her role as Padmé in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, serving as a senator of Naboo.

Padmé had dozens of incredible outfits throughout the Star Wars prequels, many of which were perfectly recreated in this Padmé cosplay video by Alyson Tabbitha (@alysontabbitha).

In less than 30 seconds, this Star Wars cosplay video showcased five different Padmé outfits. Those are the damaged Geonosis white suit, two dresses Padmé wore in Naboo during Attack of the Clones, Queen Amidala’s main costume from The Phantom Menace, and the Naboo Royal Handmaiden dress. In addition to displaying an awesome collection of costumes, this Padmé cosplay video is a reminder of just how many iconic looks Padmé had during the prequels.

Padmé may not have been the best-written character in the Star Wars prequels, but she was the emotional anchor to those three films, especially Revenge of the Sith. Given how Padmé was used as a narrative instrument in the story of Anakin Skywalker, it is impressive that the character built a legacy of her own in the Star Wars universe. Padmé was central to Anakin Skywalker’s arc, but she played a huge role in the Star Wars galaxy’s political context regardless of her relationship with the soon-to-be Darth Vader.

From being referred to only as “Mrs. Skywalker” and “Luke’s mother” in George Lucas’ original Star Wars prequels pitch to planting the seeds for the Rebel Alliance in a deleted Revenge of the Sith scene, Padmé had an impressive Star Wars journey. Other Star Wars stories released after the prequels, such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars and E. K. Johnston’s Padmé trilogy of novels, only added to Padmé’s legacy. The Padmé trilogy, more specifically, improved Padmé’s character and delivered the personal look at her life that the prequels lacked.

The instantly classic outfits portrayed in this amazing Padmé cosplay are just one of the reasons why Padmé Amidala left her mark on the Star Wars universe. Padmé’s fearlessness, courage, and strength also helped define the character, be it in the prequels or other stories. Hopefully, Star Wars will continue to revisit Padmé, perhaps even in a live-action flashback.
