'I saw you meet a man on the assembly line; what'd he say?'

Allegra says this twice to Jude Law: "I saw you meet a man on the assembly line; what'd he say?"

She says it like she's stuck in a loop - as if she's one of the game characters and not a real person. Yet Jude accepts this and continues playing the game as usual.

At this point, isn't that a clear indication that the Allegra he's talking to (and then immediately goes to lunch with) isn't a real player, but is simply a game drone?

If I'm way off, somebody please clue me in. Thank you.

If we believe that the last setting in the movie is reality, then Allegra Geller is not a game designer. So we can't rely on her explanation about the repetitions. These repetitions or loops may be occuring for both actual and programmed characters.

More importantly, if the last setting is reality, then the characters we thought programmed were all actual people all along. For instance, D'Arcy Nader was acting in a robotic way, he was in a game loop at one point, but we know that he was an actual player.

However, if the last setting was not reality and only Ted Pikul was real all along, then yeah all the others were programmed. Another proof for this might be that everyone had a fictional name in the existenz but we learned their actual names in the supposedly real setting, but Ted Pikul still had the same name. So probably, the game continues.
