Could Patrick infect other people?

Would the alien virus Patrick has be able to infect others and turn them into aliens as well? It might actually make more sense for Patrick to infect some of the women he has sex with his alien DNA so they could become alien too and thus produce pure alien offspring since a half-alien reproducing with another half-alien could make a full-alien.
