Other movies that are 'so 90's'?

Has there ever been made another film that is "more" 90's than this one?

Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore remind me of the 1990's. All those plaid button-down shirts and oversized hockey jerseys Adam Sandler's character wore in Happy Gilmore seem very 90's to me.

Definitely first kid and blank check. It's funny you mention those together like that. That's how I like to think of them. They both have those dance tracks as well (I'll Wait by Taylor Dane and The Pressure by Sounds of Blackness) that really stand out for me. Good job Mompopcrew!

Might as well add Houseguest to that list too, it doesn't necessarily have a kid as the main character but it's very 90s.

Bring it on is a good one and so is American Pie. I started high school in the late 90's and graduated in the early 2000s. I can tell you that it was much different when high school ended for me than when I started.

What about the Die Hard movies?

Pulp Fiction and Se7en arent the types of movies that should be listed. Just because somethings made in the 90s doesnt mean it screams of the 90s. Pulp Fiction has a very 70s feel to me.
Clueless and Space Jam. YES! If those movies were released today audiences would just be like "WTF?"

Movies that are Contemporary to Each Other and Have a Strong Mid 1990s Feel: Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, Se7en, Armageddon, Jurassic Park, The Flintstones, Batman Returns, Jumanji, Fargo, GoldenEye, Terminator 2 (like The Terminator feels very early 80s), Titanic, Fortress, Relic, Demolition Man, Judge Dredd, The Fifth Element, Deep Impact, Green Card, Groundhog Day, Very Bad Things, The Rock and Sleepy Hollow.

Bear in mind I thought Silence of the Lambs has aged terribly and Manhunt (which came out in the mid 80s) has dated well, while many movies from the 1980s have dated surprisingly well and could be mistaken for early to mid 1990s (the feeling of decades can overlap, for example 1998 is more similar to 2004 than to 1992 and most of the 1970s is worlds apart from the 80s, 90s and 00s, by being more closely related to the 1960s).

Here's my list:

Movies that define the 80s:

all of Eddie Murphy's films back then
BTTF 1, 2, 3
Predator (I don't know why)
Alien/s
Star Trek 4
Transformers
Ghostbusters/2
Horror movies (Myers, Jason, Kreuger etc)

Movies that define the 90s:

New Jack City
TMNT 2
Alien 3
Stargate
Stephen King's movies made then
Boyz N Da Hood
Independence Day
Contact (because it has newscasters from the 90s, one of whom died a while ago)
Predator 2
Wayne's World/2
Brendan Fraiser movies
Pauly Shore movies
Simpsons (I know it is a cartoon, but it degined the 90s)
True Lies
Golden Eye
Tomorrow Never Dies
The World is not Enough
Die Hard 3
Terminator 2

The list goes on and on.

reply

Copycat is the most 90's film I've seen, this comes close though to be fair

"Something about a #1 movie that makes beavers moist"

reply

Pulp Fiction makes the grade because it was such an iconic film of the 90's. Se7en starred two of the most iconic/prolific starts of the 90's, Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow. THAT'S why those films deserve to be mentioned.

reply

i would argue that "Pulp Fiction" is nineties, along with "Reservoir Dogs" and "Jackie Brown" - Tarantino doesn't make 'em like that now - and they might not have done as well now as then.

reply

Clueless is the most definitve 90s movie, imo.

Others are:
Singles
Reality Bites
Mallrats
Empire Records
Chasing Amy

i can't think of any other movies that haven't been posted here, but i must say, i enjoyed reading this post very much. and to the person that was born in 93, the wedding singer has an 80s feel to it, cuz it was supposed to. they made it in like the late 90s, but the music, and the clothes, and stuff, it was set in the 80s. and i agree with another person that posted, that pulp fiction had a 70s feel. i've seen that movie countless times, and though i love it, it doesn't give me that nostalgic feeling of the 90s as does this movie, and wayne's world, one and 2, and clueless, and the craft, love that one....and yeah. =D i like this post, also i noticed, lots of posts have been deleted, whats up with that? ppl being butt heads or something? theres no need! this post is fun!
