Terrible film. But it saved us from seeing Dougray Scott as Wolverine

Mission Impossible II is easily the worst film in the franchise so far, but I do have to thank it for one thing. It's protracted production saved us from having charisma vacuum Dougray Scott play Wolverine in the X-Men films which allowed Hugh Jackman to move into the part. Could you imagine how much worse the X-Men saga would be if Scott had played Wolverine.

Very true. Hugh Jackman owes his entire career to Mission: Impossible II.

I will go to my grave without changing my belief that Jackman was a horrible choice for Wolverine on several levels. After finally watching this movie, I will concede that despite my feelings on the subject, he was a monumentally better cast than Scott.

WORDS MEAN THINGS! Also, before you come to bitch about a plot hole, rewatch the show/movie.

Marvel would've made a lot LESS money had Scott not gotten tied up making this. If he'd been cast as Wolverine the franchise would've died a much quicker death OR the role been re-cast. It's amazing to think how much money Marvel and Fox has spun from a simple production overrun on MI2...
