Rate the Vacation films from best to worst

1. Vacation
2. Christmas Vacation (one of the best Christmas films ever)
3. Vegas Vacation
4. European Vacation

4 and 5 is almost a wash; Vegas i feel had smaller but more frequent consistent laughs whlle European only had a few big laughs.

Thoughts?

1. Vacation - classic, John Hughes makes it golden.
2. Christmas Vacation / Vegas Vacation - almost as good as the first, but lack something each to make them just as special.
3. European Vacation - never saw it.

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

1.Christmas Vacation: First i ever saw and still the best in the series and my favorite Christmas movie as well. just saw it again and still holds up.
2.Vacation: Really good, nothing like John Hughes 80's comedies.
3.European Vacation: good but something feels a little off in this one. Audrey and Rusty aren't as good here.
4.Vegas: feels like a cash-in. pretty forgettable.

I wish they'd make a new vacation movie, with an older Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo and possibly the griswold grandchildren.

Vacation - no comment needed

Vegas Vacation - Might just be me loving Vegas, but I enjoyed this movie aside from the annoyance of the Hoover dam scenes and the kids being too stereotyped. It's funny and Cousin Eddie mixes in just right without going too far. The retro relived scenes of Vacation also makes it connect as a true sequel to me.

European Vacation - I enjoyed this for the most part aside for the awful ending. It doesn't feel as aged either, where with Vacation you can really feel the 80s vibe going on.

Christmas Vacation - Sorry, not my cup of tea. Didn't find the movie funny at all. Overrated.

I like the original, CV, and VV pretty much equally. European was terrible.

Vacation was a nice skewering of the family roadtrip, Christmas Vacation pointed out the frustration of having all the family around, and Vegas Vacation had a swipe at the dangers of gambling.

European Vacation just seemed to be pointing and laughing at other cultures, like a bully. They didn't even seem to be playing the same characters.

It was tough to rate Christmas or Vegas at 2 or 3, but the scene in Vegas where Clark causes the damn to break was just unfunny to me. The rest of the flick is solid, though, and I think it's an underrated flick. It helps that I love Las Vegas, though, lol.
