Why did Clark always forget about Audrey?

Seems like in all the movies theres a scene where Ellen or someone mentions Audrey and Clark goes "Who?" in this one when he's asking for bridesmaids and Ellen says "How about Audrey?" "Clark says "Who?" and the other line "You your mom and...." "Audrey" "And Audrey".

Just always found it weird. Was they trying to present it as he's always busy and he forgets he has 2 kids or something?

Thats what i love about these high school girls, i get older they stay the same age.

It's just a character trademark. Every character in any movie is funnier and more memorable if they have a quirk like this.

And probably how Seth MacFarlane became inspired to treat Meg Griffin.

when i saw this topic i came to think of meg griffin as well, by the way, did you know the original audrey returns in "christmas vacation 2: cousin eddie's island adventure", as well as eric idle from "european vacation". this was even worse than i remembered, it gets better airtime though simply cause it's the newest, the awful jokes, audrey choking in the limo is suppose to be funny? (by the way this is the first movie where their children are allowed to drive, so i guess this time they have actually grown), picking things from previous vacation movies, the unrealistic climbing scene, to think it has come to this from the earlier vacation movies, this is clearly past chevy chase prime, i don't know what happened to him, he looks tired, some of the highlights though is when he walks in the wrong rest room and a kid walks out and the birthmark comment, ellen's amazing outfits.

you can look mad as hell in your eyes,
freeze me to ice,
while you tantalize,
throwing your big hair around,
turning charm on,
and again make me defrost.
