Am I the only one that likes it?

I watch it at least once a year. I think John Hannah is so silly and charming at the same time. I'm not a gwyneth hater so that helps and I don't care that her accent isn't great. I don't why, I just never get sick of it. Seems like people post on here because they dont like it.

It's nice and a lot better than I expected. It could have been even better though. The ending didn't quite work for me and parts of the story are a bit dull. But still: not a bad film at all. Before I saw it I had my doubts about the casting (especially Paltrow) but even that turned out to be pretty good.

I love this one too. But I see it a little different to the others who posted here. To me it's more a "what if" story. As she says in the movie "if only I'd caught that train" - which of course she didn't.
But in the "what if" universe all was going well, looking like it could have been a better life than what she had - she met James a second time on the train, got a new job, new haircut, etc.
Meanwhile in the real world she's struggling with work and suspicious of her boyfriend.
But then you find out why fate stepped in and caused her to miss the train. Even though she might have had a better life to start with in the "what if" world, eventually she would have died. So even though her real life wasn't going well, she survived, and then to top it off she met James again like fate intended her to do at the right time.

Totally agree - it was very much a 'what if' film, with Helen's 'real' life playing out with the fate of being with James in the last scene (we are meant to assume they get together), and the 'what if' coming to an end when she passed away.

I love it, too, and like you, watch it at least once a year or so, ever since it first came out. Definitely a favorite, and can't understand how so many don't like it.

Gerry is a total shmuck and loser - he's not funny at all nor is he attractive in any way, shape, or form. James is wonderful, just a funny, good guy - like him a lot.

LOVE the haircut, btw - had my hair done like that years ago, and am considering it again, it was just so fun!

I'm not a Gwyneth fan but I thought the movie was enjoyable. I didn't completely dislike her accent because it seemed like she actually tried to wrap herself in the British vocabulary unlike how some people from the US tend to do (I'm from the US by the way). I'll give her passing grade for effort.

Love it and hope there are more movies like it.

I truly love it. I really don't understand what is there not to love.
However, English is a foreign language for me, so her accent doesn't bother me.

I do love the idea that some things are meant to be, and I do love the idea that sometimes powers that be are really taking care of us.

And it is on my recommendation list for almost everyone.
