John Hannah is no leading man

He dampens what would otherwise be quite a good movie. Sorely miscast. He's no alpha male, no matter how much rowing and drunken revelry he takes part in with his mates to convince us otherwise, and the love scene is embarrassing, like some hot bird giving a lucky dweeb a mercy shag. He just can't pull it off.

And would any woman, I mean ANY woman, have been piss*ng herself laughing at his Monty Python Spanish Inquisition impression?

He should stick to wiping egg yolk out of Simon Callow's beard. Now that I bought.

Hilariously true; I'd've enjoyed this movie much more if it wasn't for him. The accent is irritating, he's a bit smarmy, scrawny, eager-to-impress, and he's overly cheerful for my personal taste. Oh, and he has bushy eyebrows.

:) I really do have high standards considering I'm ... well, me.

I thought he was miscast in Spartacus, too.
