When I was younger I thought that too. Because I didn't know what Morgan Fairchild looked like. He says in the movie that he was going to see the new Morgan Fairchild movie, that is why I thought that and possible why the other poster thought that too.

shareNot sure who the actress is supposed to be, but the real bathtub incident did in fact involve Jessica Hahn. It happened when Howard and the crew went to Philly to celebrate the "death" of John Debella.

Jessica managed to pull herself through the aftermath of that horrible rape incident and did well for herself in becoming quite the brave and fun-loving young lady.

I do think it may have happened because I heard Howard talking about some incident where he and Fred were in a hotel room with someone (he didn't elaborate,) and he couldn't get laid because he was married, but he was busting on Fred because he didn't get laid. It's been a while since I've read the book, but I think it may be a compilation of separate incidents.

As several people have pointed out, in real life, Howard didn't get in trouble with his wife over the incident, but it was Jackie Martling who did after his wife heard them all discussing on the air that they were in a bathtub with Jessica Hahn, resulting in Jackie having to issue his now infamous on air apology to his wife Nancy for his participation in the bathtub hijinx. As for the wet underwear, in the real life incident, Howard and the guys stuck it in Jackie's suitcase, but he found it when he got home and threw it out without his wife ever seeing it.
Please don't make a mockery of this.
shareThere was, I think, a hidden joke on the viewers. The actress in the bathtub is, 'Melanie Good'. Melanie Good plays, 'Brittany Fairchild', a thriller movie B-actress. The movie shown in the theater was a 'real' movie, titled, DIE WATCHING, from 1993.
So I don't think Brittany Fairchild wasn't based on any other actress except her real self, Melanie Good.
So this means she is based on whoever starred in Die Watching?
