Leto or Crudup, Better Prefontaine?
Jared Leto in Prefontain and Billy Crudup in Without Limits, who was a more convincing Prefontaine? Who looked more like him, and who acted more like him?

shareI could never figure out why they would come out with Without Limits the year after Prefontaine, and I also never understood why Without Limits got so much more press. In my opinion, Prefontaine was a better film, and Jared Leto did a much better job. Billy Crudup may have more physical similarites to the actual Steve Prefontaine, but that isn't part of his acting; that's his existing physical characteristics! Personally, I don't think either of them physically resemble him, but I wouldn't factor that into the job they do portraying him in the film. I will factor in that Billy Crudup comes across as Billy Crudup acting a role, while Jared Leto really inhabits his role as Prefontaine.

Because Tom Cruise was attached to Without Limits, even if only behind the scenes. Both projects did the subject matter justice, but I personally prefer Prefontaine of the two.

Jared! He did a better job of the actual physical running part I think... and he was cocky without being a real jerk.
By far Jered Leto. I met Pre when I was young and Jered looks just like him. Without limits was ok ,as they used areas of Coos Bay for the movie, but Prefontaine was by far a better movie all around.
shareso, which movie would you prefer? I've seen without limits, but I don't know what Prefontaine is like.

shareJared Leto was certainly the worst 'running' actor. His awkward running style and thin spindly legs just look wrong.
shareLeto all the way......
I still remember watching "Prefontaine" one nite many years ago and honestly had no clue that Prefontaine was a real person till the end, I thought it was just a mockumentory type of movie idk, kinda like Spinal Tap??? And it didnt hit me till the very end... And I had to look it up online, just to make sure.
But yes the movie "Prefontaine" was the better movie and Leto was the better "prefontaine"
Billy Crudup. Who plays a better junkie? Leto in Requiem for a Dream or Crudup in Jesus's Son?
