Did anyone else not think that she should have won?

I thought Helena Bonham Carter's performance in The Wings of the Dove was a lot stronger and more moving.

Having just seen the movie for the first time in years, I agree with the TC. This is also the same year that Kim Bassinger won for L.A Confidential which I also thought wasn't a great performance.

An unforgettble movie, by a genius named James L. Brooks. A powerful screenplay, a great cast... and Miss Hunt... luminous Miss Hunt. Probably the best performance by an acrtress to win an Oscar in 90's.
