How do so many people not get the movie or Chad?

My god how many dumb people have watched this film? Within one minute of reading this board I come across one thread with someone saying they can't even watch the film because it deals with two misogynists. A bunch of others are convinced he's simply a racist and misogynist. How can you possibly think Howard was a misogynist or anything but an insecure nice guy with no spine?

On the other hand, Chad most likely has ASPD (Anti-Social Personality Disorder) or NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder). Maybe even a combination of another mental disorder as well. I know a lot of people seem dead set on thinking he has ASPD but I don't know...his narcissism, insane manipulation skills, and inability to love or even care for anyone points to NPD.

Moving on, myself and a few people I know are similar to Chad in many ways (oh and he's one of my favorite characters ever too). There's a reason 4chan is so popular. I do all sorts of things that most people on this board would think makes me a closet homosexual. But just like Chad, I do a lot of things to feel in control and in power. Most people also think people like Chad are anti-women. But that's just because society has screwed with people's stupid minds. Did people not watch the movie while Chad was listing off all the people he hated in the meeting room? Or are these same people just too dumb to realize not all *beep* men are misogynists?

And, as I perceive it, even better: he is being honest with himself.

To me, it seems he isn't the one who needs help... you will probably be the one who will need some help. Being too ashamed to do more than just scratch at the surface of what you call your personality. Go ahead! Suppress all the naughty little thoughts in your head so that you will be able to pay a guy a hundred dollars to unfilde the mess.

And don't try to tell me that you are not sexually conflicted. Every one is.

And finally a tip of my hat to the OP for having the ballz to openly discuss his sexuality.

I agree that Chad would be most typically NPD. He was not a misogynist; Chad hated everyone.

Okay, yeah. Chad hates pretty much everybody. But since he spends the entire movie plotting and specifically targeting a woman - and just for fun - he definitely qualifies as a misogynist.

In the 1960's, there was a baseball pitcher named Bob Gibson. Some people said he was a racist. Others responded to that, saying, "Bob Gibson isn't a racist. He hates everyone." But that answer is a copout. You can hate everyone, and still hate one particular group just a little more.

Chad doesn't hate women more than men, he equally targets men like Howard and that intern as he did Christine. He was spouting misogynistic bs to lure Howard's insecurity towards women.

Chad doesn't hate women, I don't even know if he hates people necessarily but he derives pleasure out of hurting and manipulating people. He's a sociopath. Evil even.
