Has there ever been a movie with better music?

honestly, has any movie's soundtrack ranked up there with this one? I'm not even a baby of the 80's, but the music is just so perfect for the feel of the film I can't think of any better use of music in any movie

The music was one of the things that really bugged me about this movie when I rewatched it recently.

Not that I hated the music - far from it! I loved listening to those songs back in the 80s.

And that's the problem. This music is what John ("High Fidelity") Cusack listened to when he was in college. It doesn't sound anything like what American high school students were listening to - even in Grosse Pointe.

To be honest, the soundtrack should be Bon Jovi, Phil Collins and Whitney Houston. And that would be terrible.

The short answer would be no.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar and doesn't.

Of course, Amadeus. But yes, GPB has awesome tracks. It is one of those that amke you say

Good to see those people have great taste in music.

Speaking of that, Tarantino flicks come to mind also.

I love the soundtrack to this movie! I'm the perfect demographic for it, as I graduated high school the same year as the plot of the movie, 1986.

Another really good 80's soundtrack is Valley Girl (1983). Here's the list of tracks from the official soundtrack: http://www.allmusic.com/album/valley-girl-music-from-the-soundtrack-mw0000111467. The movie itself is just OK. It's Romeo & Juliet set in the early 80s, with Romeo being an LA punk (played by a young Nick Cage, one of his first movie roles) and Juliet is from the San Fernando Valley. But it is a must-watch if you are an 80's music fan.

There are a few deadweight songs, but it's an impressive soundtrack. Just one song after another.
