Sequel

John & Joan Cusack were interested in doing a sequel to Grosse Pointe Blank because they loved the characters. However the characters are tied up in copyright and their release couldn't be arranged. War, Inc. grew out of their desire to do something more with the characters.

Never knew that, thanks will check out War Inc!

It would be great if they could get all the copyright BS sorted out, even after all these years a GPB sequel would be incredible. I liked War Inc, but GPB for some inexplicable reason has a very special place in my heart. It's a great movie to watch if you're ever feeling nostalgic or just need cheering up.

I agree! War Inc. was pretty good but quite scattered in places. Another GPB would be fantastic....but would they still go with the 80's music? The variety of great 80's songs was one of my favorite parts of GPB.

Don't get me wrong...
It might be unbelievable,
But let's not say so long

I'd kill for a sequel, as long as it was done right, and with a good screenplay.

Problem is that the original had a lot of charm in part due to the soundtrack, which was suppose to be around the time of the characters graduating, and also for the time of the late/mid 90's.

If they did one now, where would they take the characters? Would Minnie Driver be the wife who stays home and worried about Martin while he's on missions?

Maybe they have a child now, who's a teenager? A possible kidnapping? Martin goes after the bad guys... Joan Cusack plays her character again, as well as Jeremy Piven for part of the movie. Could work.

They'd need to cast someone as good as Aykroyd though, as he was brilliant in the first movie.

Film it in the same locations in California, and maybe a bit in Michigan, and then somewhere else this time. New locale.

Same director too for quality sake...

I agree, but I doubt that it will happen.
