Whats up with the 'wheres the remote scene'

Whats up with the
"wheres the remote scene" and the film suddenly rewinds and
changes the outcome

reply

I dont see the big deal with this movie.
Häneke seems like an ass hole . This 'experimenting with the audience' thing is retarded and puerile. As if he is above the audience. He should remember he is part of the audience as well.

hurr durr I teased you by rewinding a scene and breaking the fourth wall, I bet you'll revaluate everyhting now!1
This is a 1999 movie, breaking the 4th wall isn't revolutionary or shoking.

Pompous imbecile.

Actually, it's a 1997 film. And no, Haneke is not "part of the audience". He is the god that created it all.

This is what I got from that scene:

The outcome where Anna gets the gun and shoots Peter and starts an escape is your typical Hollywood-style scene, where the heroine gets out alive, and all is well. Haneke isn't going to let you have that. This scene was there for the sole reason of pissing people off. It showed the grisly outcome, the version no one really wants to see, where no one gets out alive.
