ya this movie did suck

What a hugely enourmous gigantic mother f***ing letdown. Chris Farley the funniest man ever just ruined his rep. How could he work with Matthew Perry instead of david spade. Sure there were 3 or 4 funny parts but its a comedy. It should have hundreds of funny parts. All in all without Chris Farley guess how many funny parts there would be. Thats right, a big fat goose egg. Without Chris Farley this could be in the running for worst movie ever.

David Spade could never be Leslie Edwards. Though Edwards is a sissy (which Spade can do), the audience has to believe that Shaquinna would be attracted to him, and I don't think Spade could have pulled this off.

Honestly, I have never found David Spade funny in anything he has done.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And, of course, comedy is personal. What's funny to one person may not be to another. But I loved this movie, and found it exceedingly funny.

Proud Rumrunner!
I'm too indecisive to decide on a signature.

It seemed to me more like his character wasn't given very many opportunities to be funny in this one. Not many chances for him to walk around, hit his head on something, and go into a screaming frenzy.

I'm in a Science Inquiry class on Saturday mornings (4 hours from 8 am to Noon!) and my teacher has assigned me (as the resident film geek) to find and rent this supposedly AWFUL film because our study model is based on Lewis & Clark and their expedition (being from Oregon, makes sense) -- Shocked to discover Christopher Guest directed it (and Eugene Levy has a key role) -- although, it looks like he didn't have to do with the initial writing and may have been doing it as a director for hire gig...

this movie was hilarious. No possible way David Spade would have been near as good as Perry. I don't know if you saw Black Sheep, but it wasn't that funny at all. Tommy Boy is great! But Almost Heroes had me laughing just as much if not more than Tommy boy.

What? Did we watch the same movie?

Parts without Farley that were funny:

"Sir remember the old saying white water in the morning"

"yes?"

"thats it"

What about Higgins telling his story about putting sheep dung in his brothers pudding only to find out he doesn't have a brother. Thats funny to me just typing it.

"Rest assured, Bidwell, in 20 years or so, the ravages of old age will deal with the bear far more cruelly than we ever could have."

"revenge is sweet sir"

Thats just three parts and they are all hilarious and don't feature Farley.

"Not many chances for him to walk around, hit his head on something, and go into a screaming frenzy."

This is a good thing. He can't be expected to play the same stupid part in every movie. I was glad to see he played a somewhat different character.

3 or 4 funny parts? I know this comes kind of late, but I am curious to know what those parts are. So many seem to think the 'egg' bit is funny, but to me, it was just unrealistic and frustrating.

I don't mind unrealistic things in a comedy, when they're funny.

This movie just doesn't know how to be funny, at least Men in Tights had one funny bit, this movie doesn't even have that.

To me there is like 6 or 7 really funny parts. So if we would point out these "parts" , would it make it funnier?
