Why did Victor have a grudge against David?

Victor seems to have a grudge against David when he's in jail. But why? If anything it should be David with the grudge as he ended up paralysed while just doing his job!

If being locked up in jail was his problem, then it's surely Sancho he should be mad at, not David!

It makes no sense!
