A film with a left wing message?

Gallo is not left wing. He is a conservative but the message could be considered left wing.

Billy is more than a little rough around the edges. He engages in kidnapping for crying out loud. But you really cannot blame him. The environment he comes from is horrible. 2 horrible parents who did not love him at all. His dad kills his dog for peeing on the rug!

Having to do a 5 year prison sentence for a crime he did not commit and probably getting sexually and physically abused there.

For even greater effect we see him leaving prison in the winter time with no coat. He is basically homeless.
