Imagine Jonathan Creek as an American show

There where two attempts at an American show they didn't go past the writing stage.

Some of it wouldn't translate into American and make the characters better looking like making Maddy an attractive Lois Lane type figure or Creek a geeky Peter Parker type.

British shows are better being British.
American shows are better being American.

Show me a cross-Atlantic translation of a TV show that has worked anywhere near as well as the original, both ways.

So far The Office did it well.

There's something about the britishness of it that enhances everything Jonathan Creek is going for.
